Eggs....

    So, yesterday mom wanted two eggs to make cornbread and she's lucky cause that's all that was in the nest box! The weird part is they both had hearts in them, now this is VERY weird cause the hens had just laid them that morning, and the temp only got to 70...if that. Anyone know what went on?

    It was probably a meat spot, which can happen for first time layers. If they egg was laid that day and was fertile, the only development would have been a white "bullseye" on the yolk.

    Congrats on first eggs. After you take out the meat spot the egg is fine to eat.
