    Why are some eggs lighter brown then others even know there from the same breed

    Has to do with the way the eggs are formed , genetics , health and feed all play a part.

    ....does that mean the same bird will lay the same color every time?

    i guess what i meant is will my red hen always lay the darker brown eggs and my BR the lighter brown eggs?
