Emergency! Beak incision

I just found Dandelion (gosling) with this deep cut on her chin, it’s already swollen but she wasn’t like this when I checked on her two hours ago. I’m still trying to figure out how this happened, I don’t have money for a vet so any ideas on how to treat this myself is appreciated.

I thought about putting something on it but because it’s her chin I don’t see how it would stay on with her constantly washing her face.

I gave her some meloxicam I had left over from my gander Parsnip, I’m hoping it relieves some of the pain because it definitly hurts, she’s still an active little busy body so it was hard to get a picture. She’s still eating too.

If she were mine, I'd isolate her in an area where I could better monitor her behavior, and overall condition. To deal with the wound, I'd slather it with a triple antibacterial ointment like Neosporin, then apply a hydro-gel bandage to keep the infection out. As shown in these pictures,

I just got done putting some New Skin Liquid bandage on, I tried separating her but she was too stressed so she’s back in with her mom and brothers/sister. She seems calm right now and she’s eating but I know it hurts, she has frequent naps.

Thank you for asking! I just checked on her and so far this morning the swelling has gone down quite a bit, she still hurts understandably but she’s up and moving around. I’ll post a few pictures in a little while when the light gets better.

At 2 am when I checked her I could see the swelling had gone down then too, she spent the night inside of a small dog crate I keep with the geese Incase they want to use it. Her brother Roxbury stayed inside alongside her that I know of all night, keeping her company. Geese are such sweethearts

The swelling has come back a little more, not as bad as it was last night at 9pm.

Whenever I had chicken wire covering my coop walls for protection, I'd get this. Seems they like to put their heads through to get grass and what not but since the chicken wire was too small, they'd just end getting scraped on up the top parts. I use colloidal silver to disinfect every few hours if I'm not going to cover it. Otherwise I use a colloidal silver bandage with triple antibiotic ointment and possibly wrap up the beak unless she's eating.
