Of course I waited till today to get my shavings, grit , and starter, becasue I wanted it to be fresh an dof course they had tons- last week! This week the 3 dealers are all out of non -medicated starter for poultry.
My 4 turfted buffs from Metzger are supposed to come tomorrow.
Great, I may be able to drive the other towns within 40 miles and find some, but meanwhile here is what I can think of.
I can go get some fresh grass outside and cut it up in itty bitty pieces (we just had a week of rain and the fescue is really tall).
I have some Quaker oats.... And I have horse alphalfa pellets I could soak and make a mush....
Which or all of the above would be ok? [IMG]

    I'd give them dry oatmeal.
If its old fashioned variety blend atiny bit.
    Don't turn into into powder!
    Don't mix it with water.
    Chopped lettuce is good too.
    Lots of fresh water.
    Good luck! [IMG]
