Me too! I saw you tapping, I SO wanted to do that. My fingers were twitching. LOL.
That's the great thing about Emu's no lockdown and it helpd to encoragre them by tapping and whistling.
Whew! That's a lot of work. I'm tired just watching the process!
Not exactly speedy, are they?! Have cooked and eaten my dinner and he's still no further along! That's why i like incubating ducks, two smashes and they're out! Plus, I do NOT have the room for Emus!
BTW, what's the success rate of massive eggs like those? I can't hatch geese, big eggs seem to fail me. I'm at about 10% success rate on those.
These are eggs 6-8 for the year. And the have all at least internally pipped. They are local eggs.
1-5 were shipped eggs only 1 chick is doing well. I had another chick hatch but he is going down hill with wry neck.
Last year we hatched 2 out of three.
I have another 22 eggs in the incubator. Once they reach 35 days they start wiggling. All up to egg 13 have started to wiggle.
49 to 54 days to hatch
And hes out
I took a walk, came back to check and there he is! Yay!
