Why didn't you also go with Silkie comb?
I also have chooks with comb types that don't look like any of the pictures. Is there a thread to identify comb types?

Silkies have walnut combs. You can enter them here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1109076/chicken-comb-contest-2016-walnut/0_30

There is an article about the 9 known comb types: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/the-9-comb-types

You're welcome to start a thread in the General breed discussions & FAQ or the What Breed Or Gender is This? forum section with pics of your chickens' combs. There are quite a few old threads on combs queries here and they are scattered across the two sections.

You can enter hybrids and just say it's a cross between X and Y breeds, or unknown parentage, if that's the case.

Question... what about a breed that has a comb it isn't supposed to have? Like a silkie with a single comb... is this allowed in single comb contest?

What about Polish? They don't seem to have combs. Is there a thread for them? You know, a "no-comb comb" contest? LOL!

You can enter them, but a "fault" like that would count against them when it comes to judging.
