English house sparrows !

How do I keep sparrows out of hen house?My hens free range so each morning I open the door and leave it open until dark.When there is feed in the hen house,the sparrows are inside by the dozens!! They fly through the hen sized door!!Only solution I have so far found is to only leave feed out over night when door is closed!!
I tried an on demand feeder where hens pecked to dispense feed.Hens pecked so much there was always an abundance for the Sparrows also.

Sparrows are great opportunists - that's why they survive in severe weather, Nile virus, everything else. I hope that works for you, nothing seems to stop them out here.

Hi and welcome to BYC - i have a similar problem with monkeys - may be less stressful to accept their presence, after doing all you can to deter them.
