My three girls were enjoying the wintery morning sun, while my husband worked on the coop. They were snuggled up in a sheltered area together, so I grabbed the camera. Ellie's the barred rock, Buffy's the orpington, and Rosie's the rhode island...

Here's some of mine enjoying the fall sun today too! Normally we would be calling it winter right about now, but it's been so nice! Today was around 40, but it's going up to 56 tomorrow!

I know our hens sure enjoyed this past week here of sunny 60's and no need of electrical cord for waterer but honestly, our chickens are spoiled enough. What about me! (as you asked...) Loved this past week of Indian Summer. Unexpected and so appreciated. Mmm...use of deck and good fires in November...

Cute, we had to re-do the heater light this morning. They enjoy the heat with the 20's at night (and will get lower) setting in. The water heater helps too!
