My chick is exactly 1 week old today. I have 3 of them all ones I hatched from eggs. Surprisingly they each hatched a day after each other 6/6, 6/7, 6/8. Today I noticed one born on 6/8 had an extremely enlarged crop. I also noticed for the first time the size difference. Up until today I Thought they were all the same size (with the exception of one of them just looking a bit fatter) but the one born on 6/8 looks a little smaller. Hoping that is just because of the day age difference. Anyways it’s crop is extremely enlarged and it finally pooped after giving it a drop or two of coconut oil. And it’s a bit green and watery. I have been looking for what this could be or how to help it. I really don’t want it to die but I also do not want it to suffer. Things I did after doing research was put paper towels covering the wood shavings incase it is eating those. Gave 1-2 drop coconut oil. I was too afraid to massage it’s crop but i did pick it up and it was a bit hard at first, after the coconut Oil it ended up vomiting in my hand about 20 min later and it’s crop is a bit squishier. After that it did have a bowel movement but looks like little pieces of green stuff. I have it separated from others just in case. It has clean water but no food to see if that will help it go down. Will probiotics help? Can I save this chick?? They have only been on non medicated starter and water. This is the only one with an enlarged crop. Hard to tell the severity in the pictures because this fluffy little Silkie but in spots it looks bald because of the swelling.
