Day 21 starts tonight at about 9:00pm for the remaining 8 of a dozen buff orpingtons and abotu 8:00pm tomorrow night for the remaining six of a dozen silkies.

My last hatch I had a webcam set up with a chat box and really had fun with some of the elementary classes at the local schools. This time my internet connection is being unstable so I'm afraid I won't be able to do that

We're now halfway through day 22. Four buff orp chicks hatched during the night all 16 to 20 hours after piping. Three more eggs left in that batch and six silkie eggs which were set one day later.

Got a webcam set up in the bator again. It is a little dark right now but I will have DW turn the light on later this morning

30F here this morning. Kind of a gloomy overcast though. Our first batch of chicks is three and a half weeks old now. We moved them from the rubbermaid tub brooder in the porch to the brooder house last week. We have an old tin brooder with a thermostat and heating element for the to get under.

We've got 16 turkey poults coming this week fro Murray McMurray's too!

And 17 baby calves so far.
