Especially broody hens

I only had two chickens so far that were very broody,Peap and Stripey. The Black Silkie Bantam,Peap,followed me around all the time when she was a chick like if she thought I was her mother. The Buff Orpington,Stripey,did the same thing with Canary,another chick. Did anyone else notice anything like this?
