Ever eat eggs from a bird w/bumblefoot

    Wonder about eating this duck's eggs..............

    Yes.....and I've never given it any thought UNTIL now. [​IMG] We're alive. The bumblefoot though wasn't a raging infection, but just the localized stuff.

    Would I eat eggs from a bird with an unknown infection, probably not.

    I haven't had Bumblefoot in my flock, but it's a localized infection/abscess. If you're doing surgery and treating with injectable or oral antibiotics, I would go by the recommendations about the medication. I wouldn't worry about eating eggs from an otherwise healthy bird on no meds. You probably should treat the bumblefoot, though, since it will affect the health of the bird in the longer run.

    Yes, I took the risk and ate the egg she laid this am as a snack in the evening. If I never post again, I guess you'll know the story [​IMG]
