Hey everyone! Yesterday we built a base for the chicken coop (it's more of a open run, but it's 100% predator proof. We're moving it to the back of our backyard. Next to the coop, there is about 10ftx5ft of extra space, that I want to make into a run. I plan on putting wire over the top (it's right next to our office and a fence) and building a ramp so they can sit on top of our storage bins!
For more ideas, please post a picture of your run.
Also, does anyone use sand as bedding? We would put sand at the bottom of the coop with a pile of shavings for them to sleep in and shavings in the nesting boxes. What type of sand do you use, does it have to be like natural or something (because they will probably peck and eat at it).
