Got so excited when I got my orders of 21 chick yesterday. Setup their brooder an everything, but it gives me grief to tell everyone that i found one dead when I checked on them this morning . Hope that it is the only one( crossing my fingers )First time for me just went and buried her. I hope it's a her because I order one rooster in the mix. Any advice on giving the rest of the chick a better chance of surival? The chick got enough warmth, food, water in the brooder anything else I'm missing? Should I leave a cloth in there for them huddle to keep warmer? I know it's natural for some chick to go to (chick heaven) but what is a normal ratio of chick surival from a hatchery? So that way I can prepare myself emotionally when the time comes, if it does come.
