The Asiatic breeds are the largest breeds of chickens, and there is some Asiatic ancestry in most American breeds of chickens.

The Black Jersey Giant and the White Jersey Giant are probably the largest breeds. The rooster gets up to 13 pounds.

Brahma -- The rooster gets up to 12 pounds.

Cochin -- The rooster gets up to 11 pounds.

Cornish Game -- The rooster gets up to 10 pounds.

Orpington -- The rooster gets up to 10 pounds.

Langshan -- The tallest breed. The rooster gets up to 9 1/2 pounds.

Java -- Rooster gets up to 9 1/2 pounds.

Plymouth Rock -- Rooster gets up to 9 1/2 pounds.

Australorp -- The rooster gets up to 9 pounds.

Rhode Island Red -- The rooster gets up to 8 1/2 pounds.

(There may be other breeds I left out.)

    Do you also want eggs?

The Buff Oprington will lay an average of about 240 eggs per year.

The Light Brahma will lay an average of about 220 eggs per year.

And Australorps, Plymouth Rocks and Rhode Island Reds lay even better.
