My new pup caught one of the silkies yesterday

My bad for letting the chickens free range with a new dog in the house and the kids letting the dogs out after I told them not to. But anyway, the pup caught a silkie but did not kill it. Peanut the silkie seems ok except her eye is shut. When I pull on the lid it opens and I don't see any injury, swelling or discharge. It has been about 12 hours since the attack. Other than the eye she seems fine. She is eating, drinking and roosted with the other girls last night. Should I leave it be and hope it gets better or is there something I can do to help her?

I recommend that you gently flush the eye with saline solution. Then apply terramycin eye ointment in the eye.
