Eye issue

I had a rooster show up at my front door. Couldn’t figure out where he came from. I decided to keep him, but poor guy is missing and eye also is there something I can put on it? It looks like it’s healing but I’m worried about infection. Also should I cover it somehow?

Can you post some pictures of him and his eye injury?
I wouldn't cover it.
Flush it with saline solution and put some terramycin in/on it or triple antibiotic ointment if you don't have terramycin.
It's possible this guy was win a fight with another rooster and lost his eye.
Is he eating and drinking okay? Is he otherwise acting okay, not lethargic?
