Got a couple of decent pictures:
And two videos:
Treated with oral ivermectin.
They crawl to the bird's eye to drink their tears (at least that is what I think they are doing) and then they crawl back usually into the bird's ear. I always have a problem with these bugs getting on my peafowl.
So was it just one oral dose of ivermectin and how much?
One oral dose did the trick. Gave 0.15 ml 1.87% horse paste.
Thanks I will have to do that!
Did it work?
My medication ... twice a day !
... and it works !
I don't understand why your lice are so much larger than mine.
Some of mine are quite small... They were so obvious on that hen, so I thought it would be worth documenting.
What I am wondering is if the large ones are regular lice and the very small ones are the ear lice.
Could be, though the head was the only place she had lice, not like the chickens that get them around the vent, legs, wings, and back.
