I just got in a new batch of baby chicks from a hatchery. The EEs are eye pokers. This isn't just a casual "oh, it's shiny" poke. This is trying to either grab the eye lids or to actually poke the eye, with persistence. There are already a couple of chicks with some eye issues because of it. Has anyone experience this?

I have raised a lot of chicks over the years and haven't run into this either. That's why I asked to see if anyone else has had this happen.

Just wondering if you were using a regular light bulb because the bright white lights allows chickens to see certain things differently where as the red light doesn't. Very wierd.
