Hello everyone, a couple of weeks ago I found one of my female quails with a bad injury all over her head, apparently the other female had been picking her eyes. I isolated her and her wounds healed, but now one of her eyes is unable to shut and the other has healed leaving only a tiny hole in the middle for her to see.
She can function normally but it's a pity to see the poor animal using just one eye.
Is there anything I (or a vet) can do?

You can use an antibiotic eye ointment such as terramycin to see if the closed eye is infected. That may be why the bird can't open the eye. Did you try to treat the eye injuries at the time? If not, this may be the cause of the problem.

Thank you for your answer. I cleaned the wounds with camomile several times (following an advice given to someone else in this forum) and that's all I did since I didn't see signs of infection.
I'll try terramycin and see what happens.
