Fair chickens.

My wife and I went to a county fair on Sat.,( don't want to name the county) mainly to look at the chickens. We saw quite a few nice looking ones, mostly bantams, but saw a lot of ugly birds. I thought the birds at a fair were supposed to look like the best of the best. Saw a couple EE roosters that our roosters would put to shame. Could it be that ours are so much younger than those? Ours are only 5 months compared to those that were 2 to 3 years old. Here are some pics. Earl isn't an EE but I had to put him in.

Nice birds!

Have to remember sometimes - a lot of the shown animals are raised and shown by kids. While Fluffy the rooster my be the worst example of his breed, he's the only one the kid has, and by golly, they're going to show him! Doesn't mean they'll win, but just because you didn't win doesn't mean you're a loser

Lots of valuable experience is gained at County Fair.

We saw some fabulous birds at our fair too, and some, well....they did fulfill the requirements of being poultry I guess.
