Please don't laugh at this, but my kids and hubby wanted to know if we need to put a brown fake egg in our nesting boxes since all of our girls are brown egg layers. I told them I didn't think it mattered as some people use the bright fake plastic ones. They still wanted me to check with the experts here. Also, when and if do you need to put one in? Our girls are at least 3 weeks out, I'm guesstimating.

You can tell your kids and hubby that one of the 'experts' agrees with you. [IMG] I once had a mallard/Muscovy mule that went broody. I knew that she was sterile and very unlikely to even produce eggs. When I found her nest she was setting on 3 apples. Yep, I gave her some fertile eggs.

By the way, you do know the definition of expert?

    ex - past tense

spurt - a little drip under pressure
