The officers and members of the Michigan Poultry Fanciers would like to extend to you an invitation to attend our annual show, The Fall Fowl Fest sponsored by Yeo & Yeo CPA and Business Consultants! This will be a two day show in Birch Run, Michigan on Saturday, October 8th and 9th, 2011. Come join us for a day or two of fun poultry camaraderie.

This will be a whole new venue for the show, but the setup will remain basically the same as the great shows in Frankenmuth. The arena offers great lighting and lots of space that will let us set up six foot wide aisles. The show is timed near the height of the fall color season in mid-Michigan and this can make for a pretty drive to the show.

I know that a trip to Indy is in the works for many of you, but don’t pass up the “warm up” opportunity at our show a couple weeks before the big show to our south. The show will be in Birch Run this year at the Birch Run Expo Center, about a 2 hour drive north of the Michigan – Ohio border.

Most of you who attended the Frankenmuth shows drove directly through Birch Run to get to that location. The Expo Center is right along the west side of I-75, just to the north of the giant outlet mall. The building was originally built by the National Hockey League to promote that sport. It has two full size hockey arenas and a couple other large size meeting rooms. We will be using the north arena and everyone will be using the front entrance. The south arena will have a giant garage sale on Saturday, and we understand that the upstairs portion of the facility might have a haunted house running on Friday and Saturday nights. There are lots of great hotels and restaurants in Birch Run and a giant outlet mall. Pictures of the new venue can be seen at birchrunexpos.com .

So far, our scheduled open show judges are Steve Jones (making the long trip from Texas) and Gary Overton from Ohio.

This show will feature district meets for the Rosecomb Bantam Federation, the International Waterfowl Breeders Association, and the National Call Breeders Association; as well as a meet for the Chantecler Fanciers International. In addition, we have around twenty other club meets scheduled for the Birch Run Fowl Fest at this time.

Show catalogs are available for viewing or download at our fowlfest.org website. If you need a printed catalog just drop us a phone call or email. Entries are due to the show secretary at Noon, Saturday, October 1.
