SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE 6 eggs separated pinch salt 3C. flour 1 tsp vanilla flavoring 1/2/pint sour cream 1/2 lb butter or margarine 3 C. sugar 1/4 tsp soda cream butter or margarine with 3 cups pf sugar. add egg yokes and flavoring. Sift flour with baking soda and add to creamed mixture a little at a time ( will be very thick) After all flour is added, add sour cream. mix well. add pinch of salt to egg whites and beat until stiff: then hand fold into above mixture, Bake In a 300 degree oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. check with toothpick after 1 1/2 hours. NO NOT OVERBAKE, bake in a tube pan which has been well greased and floured.turnout of pan immediately. This is the cake I am asked to bring to our church socials, I don't usually sift the flour because I usually wait until the last min to make it, but it's my-family favorite, and will freeze good to.
