Have you heard about our Ecoglow sponsored contest on FB for cutest chick pictures? The winner gets an EcoGlow 20 brooder :) Just sayin' (you can click Les Farms in my signature).

Thanks for the tips on shooting them. Seems cloudy days I get my very best shots, or at night. I refuse to use a flash. how does anyone actually get good pictures with a flash? Anyone care to share?

    Congrats! She's adorable!
Natural light is best IMO. Takes some practice and a steady hand. If you need a flash indoors for a particular shoot, I always bounce it. Point the flash towards the ceiling so it lights up the big white ceiling and all that floods the subject making less hard spots and shadows. (sorry, having a hard time using my words this morning, it was crazy busy at my bar last night... need more sleep... or coffee)

Very cool pictures! I like some of the angles. [IMG]

I love the natural light also! And, I'd much rather take pictures outdoors. That's what I do most of the time anyway.
So, how would you bounce the flash off the ceiling? I have my little Canon with the built in flash. lol You'd need some sort of a separate flash device to bounce it or is there an attachment you can add to your camera to do this with?

You need a shoe mount flash like the Canon Speedlite. They allow for you to swivel the head in any direction, even behind you. But if that is not an option for you, then you can rig a white index card to your camera that will block the flash forward and direct it in the direction you want it to go. It will be much more diffused then the shoe mount, but better then a direct shot IMO.

Luna and her posse. [IMG] Luna, previously known as Lucky, is now living out in the duck&geese community. We though she'd get picked on but NOOO! She has her own gang. lol She has other ducks following her around! And they're all much bigger than her. It's hilarious to watch. Little Luna swimming in the pond or walking on "shore" with a bunch of other ducks in tow. [IMG]

Then there's nasty patty Glarence and one of his women.
