Fatting my birds

    I was giving eight birds a few months ago and they have done pretty good. I ended up with about four to five roo's and cant really have that many. I just switched them from medicated feed so within the next month I want to fatten them up and eventually send them to the kitchen. Any ideas on how to fatten them up, I was thinking extra goodies like fruit, and different treats. what about putting them in a pen, I let them free range, but wondering if I pen the ones I will cull and increase feed if thats best to fatten. Thanks for any ideas.

    Give them lots of seed - whatever is cheapest. Wheat, millet, corn. (You might want to pen them just to keep from accidentally fattening your layers.)

    How old and what breeds? Some breeds will never get "fat".
