I have always loved peafowl and never knew until recently that they came in such a variety of colors and patterns. I always knew about the regular blue peacocks and the white ones (I have a beautiful oil painting in my dining room of two male peacocks, one blue and one white, relaxing in a tree together). I have peacock everything in my house--even my bathrobe is covered in peacocks! And I also have an affinity for the peahens, though pictorially those are not nearly as "famous", so nice images of the hens aren't as easy to come by.
Nonetheless, I Just wanted to comment that you folks here have some really beautiful birds & I am sitting over here envying you now.
Surely there must be a peafowl that comes in "envy green".... ?
I like Cameo's the best, but all colors are pretty cool. My friends raise them, and have almost every color. They are just getting into the purple's. Those are breathtaking!
My favorite color is by far Java Green (pavo muticus-muticus) i love how each feather looks like a scale.
I like to keep it simple, Indian blues are my favorite
