I have some crele orpington eggs coming in the post soon, and was wondering if the feather sexing method works. And if it has to be done in the first few hours of life. (the feather sexing version where the buds on females, no on males.) thanks :)

I get a little better then 90% right with the feather sexing at hatching.
as proven by the leg bands I use. Right leg on cockrels and left leg on pullets.
Saddle feather sexing works 100% on juvies.
