    Hi everyone!

Just after some advice regarding feather trimming please.

I have two RIR's that are getting a bit mucky at the rear end, because when they poop it's getting stuck in their fluffy butt feathers! (Ah, the hazards of a big butt, lol....) [IMG]

Anyway, hubby and I are intending to trim the feathers back in that area. I was just wondering if there is any technique to it, or can I just chop away at them with scissors?

I read once that feathers can bleed. Is this really the case? Can I trim their butt feathers back too far, or is it safe to cut them back fairly harshly?

    Thanks in advance,

    - Krista

I no their wing feathers if you cut too far up they can bleed but I watched a couple youtube videos before I trimed them Im not sure about bottom feathers as they are more fluff than anything really. Have you looked for vidios online?
