Newbie here...I have 4 11-week old chicks. There are feathers all over the coop and run lately--just in the last week. Not hundreds...but I'd say I find a dozen or so every day.

Is this a bad thing? The feathers seem to be from the easter egger, who is at the bottom of the pecking order, but I also find an equal number of black & white feathers, which could be from either of the 2 barred rocks, who seem to be the bosses [IMG].

    Chicks all look fine.

Is this normal? Are they fighting & I don't see it? I see the same amount inside (they are only there at night) and out in the run.

    Thanks!!

No need to worry...they are just molting. [IMG]

Really? Are they old enough? Haha, they just got these feathers!

Do they molt the same time each year? Once/year? I don't know much about this part. Or any part, really, but I'm learning!
