what do you recommend for the best feed to feed your hens for best egg production?
Layer feed, for sure! People will differ on the protein content.
I give my girls X-Cel feed, which is produced in my town in WA State (hooray for local!). They prefer it over the Del's brand.
Not sure if it is the best...but I feed mine Purina Layena. The egg production is good! I also offer scratch, oyster shell and scraps.
We feed Later Pellets from the Co-op. They lay great.
i give mine layer mash blueseal brand. dont know if you can get it in florida though.
Blue Seal for us.... I think (my mom actually gets the feed and we get it at Blue Seal feed stores so I presume that's what it is.)
Layer feed from Farm & Fleet when our grain store runs out. But usually Purina Layer Pellets for our grain store.
Homestead All-Natural Layer Crumble from Hubbard Feeds is the best for us!
Dunmore pellets and corn
