Still new to this quail thing and have a question. I have look on some older threads and used the search bar with no luck. My question is do you separate their feed and grit or can you mix it in with the feed? Just wondering. Thanks in advance.

You can do either. Usually if you provide a dust bathing pan of dirt or sand, many times they will eat the grit out of this. So you can serve it up on the side or mix it into the feed. Your choice.

Thanks, I have a tote of play sand for when I change their pen and I also put them in it everyday for a little bit when I get home.

For the most part.... Coturnix quail only eat the game feed... its water saluable.. they dont need grit very much... birds like bobwhites that eat seeds need the grip to help digest the food. you can buy crushed chick granite, or crushed oyster shell... the shell works good too for em.
