I have a mixed aged flock with some younger chicks ( 4 months old who are not laying yet)as well as my adultish bird and some old timers.

I know it is not good for the youngers to have layer pellets but would it harm the layers if I switch every one over to grower?

Quote:Shouldn't but make sure you have oyster shells avaliable...The higher you go in the feed chain ( bagged food) the more calcium it has in it..So when you take a step back in the bagged feed-you are taking calcium away from them:) At 20+ weeks Id say switch them all over to layer pellets...
