    Hi all,
I have chickens and ducks and they all stay together in the same coop. So far they have all been fed and eat the same food (layer, crumble). I've just ordered a bunch of organic bulk food (yellow peas, oats, barley, flax seed, chia seed, kelp) and plan on mixing this up and feeding to the chickens. My problem is the ducks (I have 4, two Pekin and two Khaki) seem to eat a lot, and this stuff is pretty expensive. Can I just put this new food in a new feeder and raise it higher so the chickens can get it but the ducks can't. I'm going through a 7 pound feeder a day with just 8 chickens and 4 ducks. My friend with just 8 chickens said he only has to fill his one every 2 or 3 days. Any good Ideas on how to separate the chicken and duck food, by they way they all free range from morning until night, I just leave the door to the run open and they go in and out to get food and go into the coop to lay eggs (ducks aren't laying yet, but the chickens started at 4 months!!!)
