So I have had chickens for about five months and I went to the feed store when they were one month old and the guy told me that they needed the layer crumbles. Will they still lay eggs if they have been eating layer feed since one month old?

waiting on some input I was told after the first egg but I have 2 that's been on pellets they have not laid yet guessing 20 months old I just got the 2 hens

The problem with feeding layer feed before a pullet is laying, is they do not need the added calcium, and it can be hard on their kidneys. I would take all the girls off until they have begun to lay.
