I plan to move my 8 chicks to their outside coop at 4 weeks with a heat lamp at night only. (South Florida) They will be locked inside the roost/nesting box at night. Do they need feed and water in there at night and if so, how long before they can go all night without it. They will be let out into their run by daylight every morning. These are my first chickens and this is one question I couldn't find an answer to! Thanks so much!!!!

I would say until you remove the light. Mature chickens don't eat in the dark -- probably chicks wouldn't either, if we didn't light their home by keeping it warm. They will probably start avoiding the heat even at night very soon.
