feeding chicks

Can I feed my chicks the 17% pullet developer feed? I only have two right now and I am wondering if it will be bad for them to eat the developer instead of the starter. They are two weeks old.

Is there some reason in particular you don't want to use chick starter?

You could use developer feed, but as it is lower in protein you'll get slower growth and development than you would if you used a feed formulated for their age and stage of development.

I am bringing the chicks home today and don't have chick starter since I changed the other chicks over. I can go buy more, I was just wondering whether it was necessary. I will buy chick starter though, I want them to develop normally.
