My Health Food person told me that I ought to feed my chickens Flax Seed or meal. She said it changes the structure of the yolk a little. Maybe better for me Since I have cholesterol issues. Does anyone know if indeed it alters the egg in any way?

If you have cholesterol problems just have egg whites instead.

You can eat the white, but the best nutrients are in the yolk! Funny they told you this, that was the thinking back in 1989 when my Dad had heart trouble. I think much of the data now days says that fat is the problem which causes us to make cholesterol. Eating cholesterol is less of a problem. Just give the girls greens and you will have a better Omega 3 profile.

Feeding flax was just a thought. I know that some egg companies feed it and tout a higher omega 3 content in their eggs. Don't know if this is true or not. My doctor also said eggs are not the problem. Does anyone feed the yolks cooked to their chickens?
