I went to a chicken class and the instructor said not to feed the chicks seedy foods like apples, grapes, etc. It evidently causes the seeds to stay in the gut and rot. I have given my girls zucchini, apples, watermelon, and other foods with seeds. Has anyone heard of this problem?

I have only been doing this 7 months but I have given all those things plus watermelon, cantelope and I haven't had problems. A lot of grains are also "seeds".
