A good friend of mine who lives outside of our county was visited last week, and told to get rid of her chickens. If you don't have 5 acres, you can't have livestock. period. now I'm worried! We just built a fancy coop and run, and are in love with our chicks! how do I find out the laws?? and once I do, do I ignore them until someone official comes a knockin'

? I doubt anyone on our street would EVER call authorities... but who knows... AGH!!!

sometimes you can find your state and county rules and regs online just go to your state and town bylaws and check there.Other times calling the town/city hall or animal control officer may help. Somebody else may have some other places you could check.

I am also unsettled about your same problem. I tried to check on line for rules but was unable to open the files...I don't want to call, because THAT would get the officials on my trail.

And if they say 'no' & catch me later...they will say 'we told you...' & throw the book @ me. I am in favor to continue to lay low.

Getting neighbor written approval won't work for me as the house next door is for sale.
