Hi there,

One of my Cayuga girls is actually nesting, I have never actually had one sit this long and constant before. She gets up a couple times a day to eat, drink, and clean herself then goes back. But every time she gets up she lets out a very loud single quack every time she walks. My main concern is we actually just moved into a new house that’s part of an HOA and she starts her routine at 3:30/4 am every day. I’m sure it’s just her telling the others leave me alone or maybe she’s just happy to maybe be a soon to be mom. My question is, is there anything I can do to help keep her quiet that early? She’s loud until she goes back to the nest. I’m mainly worried about the neighbors saying something to HOA and then I have to get rid of them. Thanks for any help

No, there isn't anything you can do to shut her up.

Are you letting her sit on eggs to hatch them or are you planning on taking the eggs away?

If you add more ducks to the ones you currently have you are adding more of a chance of getting caught with them.
