She arrived in January, neck pecked, we don't know from where. She was reasonable quiet, we feed her, she sleeps under a bush. Winter has come and seems she has gone mad and is driving us crazy with her abusive quaking. What can the problem be?

Sounds like she may have run away from home and is lonely, can you provide a friend for her? Ducks are flock animals and need companions to be happy. And a safe place to be out of the winter weather too.

Thank you for the speedy reply! We did not intend having a pet as we are away from home regularly. The duck is cute and we have grown fond of her, she is not tame enough to be handled and since she flew in we felt she would leave if she is not happy. Her loudness is a concern though ....

Her loudness will draw predators to her so that's not too good, Maybe you could check around and see if you can find her a good home where there are other ducks.
