One is a Speckled Sussex, the other is a Buff Brahma Bantam. I’ve posted the sussex on here before when she was younger but she had sour crop for a long time but now she is improving so I have been bringing her into the run supervised so she can mingle with the others for a slow reintroduction. There has been curious pecking, which I expected, but these two have been fighting with their necks fluffed out and being persistent; I had to pull them away because the sussex was beginning to pull feathers out of the bantam’s neck and draw a bit of blood from the face. The sussex is away from the flock now.

I was told the sussex looks like a girl, but this behavior was concerning me. Any opinions? Both 13 weeks old today.

Also sorry for holding the bantam awkwardly, I was about to go out and I was wearing a nice shirt so I didn’t want to get her muddy feathered feet on my clothes :p don’t worry, her feet get cleaned regularly. Also I’m aware their food and water is empty, I cleaned out and refilled after these were taken!

Thanks everyone! I’ve always been a bit paranoid because I’ve had to deal with my favorite chickens being roosters and having to be given away.. accidental male chickens are a great deal of anxiety for me now so I constantly feel the need to check in. Thanks for the help :bow

I hear ya! I held out hope even after everyone said my Delaware was a boy...I wanted a Delaware so bad and had paid so much money for "her"! He left our home a week ago and I miss him, but the entire flock is so much better behaved with him gone now.
