I use Marshalls ferret food it keeps a ferrets coat thick and not scrawny which cheap ferret food does.

IMO the best food for them is a raw diet. However, Marshall's is a decent food.

I haven't personally given rabbit but I have a friend who has. I have given rats, chicken, and mice before though.

Marshalls is what most pet store ferrets will be fed. Marshall Farms is the large breeder that many ferrets come from. You can tell if you have a Marshalls ferret by the 2 dots tattooed on the ferrets ear.
It is an ok food, but there are better. :) I recommend Wysong Epigen 90 for high protein. Totally Ferret brand is a favorite among ferret enthusiasts. This food chart is an excellent resource when comparing foods and considering their obligate carnivore needs: http://moredooks.herobo.com/search.php?chart=ferret
If you want more info on ferrets, the FML, ferret mailing list is an email format mailing list that has an incredible amount of information discussed on it.
