Ok. Silly question for those who know, but for those who don't... When a rooster "" a hen, does that result in one fertile egg? or does the hen lay fertile eggs for a certain duration?
The hen is fertile for 10 days or more has been my experience. I had seperated a blue hen from a BBR roo and was still getting fertile eggs from her 2 weeks later. Lanae
how do you tell the difference in a fertile egg and a non fertile egg? I am new to chickens, and have 6. Mine should start to lay soon, and one of my "hens" turned out to be a "roo".
