FERTILE EGGS????

    ok i have 1 rooster and a bunch of hens now do all the eggs that i get from the hens be fertile??? im trying to hatch a bunch of chicks but i dont want to use non fertile eggs obviously.

    Unless you've actually seen your rooster servicing each and every of your hens, it might be difficult to tell "for sure" if the eggs you're trying to hatch out are all fertilized. It might be a bit nasty waiting 21 days to find out it's not and have a rotten egg. Depending on how many chickens you have, maybe you could separate your rooster and just a few of your best hens so you know he'll have some 'quality' time together with them. Keep them together and wait about a week and then I think those eggs laid after a week of them being together should be fertilized. [​IMG]
