How do you tell if the eggs are fertile or non-fertile in an incubator??? When you candle an egg, what is the easiest way to do it??? I tried a cereal box but it didn't work out. All answers would be appreciated.

At 5 days you should be able to see the red veins, especially near the top of the egg along the air cell. I use a high powered egg candler but you can also use a high powered LED flashlight. You will need to do this in a dark room for the best results. In the Index under incubating there is a sticky at the beginning of the thread that shows egg candling day one through day 18. It is very helpful

Good luck!

AFTER 3 DAYS IN THE BATOR YOU WILL START TO SEE A VEINING PROCESS BUT MOST PEOPLE LIKE TO WAIT UNTIL DAY 10 TO CANDLE THE BEST WAY IS TO USE A BRIGHT LED LIGHT LIKE A SMALL LED FLASHLIGHT IN A DARK ROOM......
