I ordered some Pharaoh Quail eggs and I was wondering if these are fertile?
You can't tell fertility from candling.... the first one could be bad, though, from too much shaken-and-baken in the mail.
You can only tell if you crack them open.
If you ordered hatching eggs, they are probably fertile. Especially if you ordered them from someone who sells them all the time.
Thanks... that some wieght off of my shoulders.
I'm no authority on pharaoh quail, but have these been in the bator long enough to start developing? Just wondering cause the egg in the 2nd pic sure looks like a dead giveaway that those are (blood) veins. I could be waaay off base, though.
Quote:+1 If those eggs have been in a bator, I think your dead on, looks like 3 have viens to me but can't tell for sure. You can't tell if a egg is fertile by candling. But you can tell if there developing and a infertile eggs won't develope. Bill
And I'm old and blind and had to really squint to see those viens and not till they were pointed out. LOL
Quote:Ha......join the crowd .......... if I keep on gettin stronger reader lenses in my bifocals, they're gonna look like the bottom of the ol' timey Coke bottle.
Yea it has viens... it's just ba pics. and they have about 8 days left until they hatch.
Quote:Cool.......Good Luck on the hatch. Those may not hatch, but it won't be because they weren't fertile....at least the ones with the veins.... Again, Good Luck...
