fertilized egg

    If a hen lays an egg and it goes cold (the same temp as the surrounding area rather then kept warm by the hen) will it no longer be able to hatch if a broody hen sits on it?

    No it could still hatch, usually they will lay a whole bunch of eggs (a clutch), before sitting on them :)
