These may be mutt chickens. I think one is a Buff Orpington. At least the lady who gave them to us said it was.

    This is the possible orpington.

These are the two I have no clue about.

the first is a production red and the black with orange hackles is a black star. both are laying hybrids [IMG]: the hen on the left may be a hatchery barnvelder or mutt [IMG]

I also think the first hen looks like a red sex-link aka red star. The other two I can't say, but they are pretty. I'm sure they will great egg layers whatever they are. [IMG]

I know the Red lays every day. The black and unknown... I haven't caught either one of them in the act of laying yet, but one of them is laying a HUGE dark brown egg.

Unknown chicken egg at the top, then red sex-link, then bantam RIR, then OEG, then the second egg my Barred Rock ever layed.

This picture really doesn't do justice to the size and deep brown color of the top egg. It's fully twice the size of a 'normal' large sized egg. The yolk is as big as a half dollar. Freakishly, consistently, large egg.
